Bars & Nightlife Business Development Featured Fara Illich May 21, 2010

Development news this week brings an interesting story of rebirth in the warehouse district south of Jackson Street.
DuceSteve and Andi Rosenstein occupied the historic 1928 brick warehouse after purchasing it in 2007 and this week began holding Suns watch parties to highlight the opening of their newest venture, The Duce. Reviving a nickname from the area’s past, The Duce combines raw urban styling with old-school class and features the original bar from Chicago’s Black Orchid Jazz Club.
Not your average venue, The Duce’s website describes itself as “(a) restaurant & lounge, entertainment destination, vintage one-stop shop, a coffee joint, old-fashioned soda fountain, fresh produce and dairy market, news-comics-candy stand, old school gym & vintage bike shop…”
The Duce has arrived with a decent amount of fanfare with recent stories on AZCentral.com and in the Phoenix New Times. For more information on The Duce, including the menu and upcoming events visit their website.  They will be hosting the Orange Crush the Lakers Bash at The Duce on Sunday and Tuesday at 4 p.m., the perfect excuse to check it out; you can find details via the website on orange-themed drink specials.
