herberger-smallOne of Downtown Phoenix’s preeminent cultural venues, the Herberger Theater, is in the midst of a $16 million renovation.  Timed to coincide with the Theater Center’s 20th Anniversary Celebration and completed by October 1st, the upgrades are financed by city bond funds approved by voters in 2006.  The first phase was completed last summer with work focusing on internal improvements such as air-conditioning and ADA compliance.  The second, more intensive phase began May 17th and has necessitated closing of the theater for the remainder of the summer.  Crews are replacing every seat in every theater and will completely remodel the lobby area featuring a new 2-story LED lighting fixture.  For complete details on the renovation, including a regularly updated construction videoblog please visit the Herberger Theater Center’s website.
CityScape Introduces State-of-the-Art Software
This week I came across an interesting story about the implementation of state-of-the-art facility management software at the new CityScape office tower.  Hunt Construction delivered the building in March along with the new software that “embeds 6D information electronically, including as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, documentation, commissioning  FM data as well as anticipated service schedules – in one place, on one model.”  For details on the cutting edge software please visit:  Hunt Construction Group Debuts FM Software in Phoenix.
