Arts & Culture Bars & Nightlife Featured Food, Restaurants & Dining Music & Events Fara Illich August 11, 2010

Here are two awesome events for you to experience this week:
First, I want to encourage you to go local with your wine.  Bet you didn’t know that Phoenix Public Market Urban Grocery and Wine Bar hosts a FREE wine Market_TastingWEBtasting every Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m.  You can sample locally grown and produced wines from across the state; a different winery is featured every week.  Don’t think you can’t get great wine from the desert because these are amazing vintners, and you don’t want to miss out. Some of the wines being poured tonight include Arizona Stronghold Tazi and Dayden, as well as Page Springs Cellars Vino del Barrio Rojo.
Do you rock?  Alice Cooper’stown is hosting auditions this Saturday and next Saturday for their Battle of the Bands event to be held Labor Day Weekend.  Proceeds from the 7 p.m. event will benefit the Red Paww Foundation which furnishes emergency food boxes to pet owners and shelters.  I’ll give you the lowdown on the event closer to Labor Day, but for now, polish up those drumsticks and tune your guitars – sharpen your black eyeliner pencil too  – and we’ll see you at Cooper’stown on Saturday. Note: Fans and family memberse are more than welcome to attend the auditions while enjoying cold drinks and great food. There will be plenty of drink specials and tickets are only $15 plus one donated food item. Call (602) 253-7337 for more information.
Have a great week!
