Who had an overly strict, domineering and painfully demeaning grandmother?  Or a shiesty uncle?  Maybe a footloose and fancy-free aunt?   The boys in Lost in atc_yonkersYonkers do, and if you haven’t seen Neil Simon’s most acclaimed work (ahem, a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel and Tony Award-winning play), then your moment has arrived!   The show opens this week at the Herberger Theater.  Side note – the oldest boy in the play is the son of one of our very own Ambassadors!
Speaking of award-winning performances, the highly-acclaimed Ballet Arizona is back on stage this week with Modern Masters, showing at the historic Orpheum Theater.  Soak up the romance of the Orpheum while you watch the world premier of a new piece by Ballet Arizona’s famous choreographer Ib Anderson, as well as other memorable performances by other masters of modern ballet. It was reviewed as an “utter delight…classic steps with modern gestures.”  Intriguing, right?
If you like your performances a little louder with a bit more ruckus, the Suns take on three different teams this week: Toronto on Wednesday, New Orleans on Friday, and Dallas on Sunday.  Can they make the playoffs?  Come down and see!
Oh!  And, Lady Gaga is back in town on Saturday at US Airways Center.  No way we would forget to mention that.
Get Downtown where all the action is and find out why we love living, working, and playing in the Urban Heart of Arizona.
Have fun!!
