Business Development Food, Restaurants & Dining Spotlight Fara Illich December 23, 2013

KaleidoscopeIt can be difficult to find, or at least choose, healthy options when dining in Downtown Phoenix, but that’s about to change with the opening of Kaleidoscope Juice at CityScape.
The health food store serves 100-percent organic cold press juices, smoothies, salads, snacks and desserts that will make you want to eat healthy. Warning: They will also make you want to eat everything.
At least, that was my experience. After hovering nearby looking at the menu, finding it difficult to choose just one thing, co-founder Alexandra Maw walked over to help me out.
Either she’s a natural talent, or its the experience from her other locations, but after a few words from me—green and light sugar—she gave me the perfect suggestion.
The “Light Body” smoothie: a nutritious combination of parsley, cilantro, pineapple, kale and the list goes on. After just one sip, I knew I was hooked.
The price may make you gawk at first, but when a huge 24-ounce cup filled to the rim with delicious green slush is placed in front of you (and you feel like a million bucks for days after), you’ll know it was $9 well spent.
Other items I’ll be back to try include the acai bowl, frozen yogurt, the detox salad and raw cacao truffles. The Flu Shot, recommended here by the Phoenix New Times, is also high on the list.
Who am I kidding, though? I’ll be back every day until I’ve had one of everything. Plus, for the more dedicated juicer, they also offer a variety of juicing cleanses lasting from as little as one day to one week.
Kaleidoscope Juice shares space with Chloe’s Corner, but stands out all on its own with its plethora of power foods you won’t find anywhere else.

Their hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and closed on Sundays.
