Book Swap PHX Poster
A great downtown is marked by its events—and CO-OP Phoenix is helping to build a better Downtown and stronger sense of community by hosting free, social events in urban spaces.
With a focus on community, connectivity and philanthropy, the organization is hosting Book Swap PHX, a book exchange, this Saturday, March 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Civic Space Park.
The event is a kick off for the Downtown Phoenix Partnership’s Little Free Library program, which is part of a larger, national program bringing free books to public parks and places.
After the book swap, free little libraries will pop up at Civic Space Park, Heritage and Science Park, the Downtown Phoenix Information Center and the Phoenix Public Market filled with books donated and leftover from the swap.
Besides the exchange, Book Swap PHX will also feature the Partnership’s pop-up games like corn hole, giant connect four and more; food and drink; live storytelling; and a raffle by Frances Vintage and Bookmans.
Never been to a book exchange? Here’s how it works:
You are invited to bring up to 10 books to swap and unlimited to donate. What you give is what you receive so if you bring 5 books, you can swap for 5 books.
While the event is free, CO-OP Phoenix will be accepting $5 donations to cover event costs. RSVP to Book Swap PHX.
