Let’s face it, Tuesday was kind of a bummer. Belgium overpowered team USA 2-1 in the last game of the World Cup before the quarterfinals. But despite the loss, Downtown Phoenix really came out on top, bringing in hundreds of people from around the valley and packing bars, restaurants and pretty much anywhere with cable TV.
In true sports-mania fashion, people dressed up, painted their faces, drank beer and took to social media. We compiled the best photos from around the Web, capturing the personality, drama and anguish that only soccer fans possess.
You can join in the fun too – just follow @downtownphoenix and look out for the next hashtag and photo project.
