What: Space Between Grand Opening When: Friday, Aug. 21 from 8-10 a.m. Where: 517 N. First Street – Between Taylor Place & Valley Youth Theatre
Goodbye vacant, dirt lot. Hello beautiful, temporary pocket park! Join us at the Space Between in Downtown Phoenix as we unveil a brand new community space – complete with grass, shade and custom benches by 11th Monk3y Industries.
Call in late to work or better yet, bring the whole office Friday, Aug 21 from 8-10 a.m. Led by Phoenix City Councilman Michael Nowakowski, the ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 8:30 a.m. with free coffee and donuts from Rollover Doughnuts for the first 100 people.
Highlights of the park include a number of mature trees salvaged from downtown construction sites, in addition to desert-friendly plants, recycled materials and passive rainwater harvesting.
Over the past two years, the Downtown Phoenix Inc. Streetscape Team, led by Ray Cabrera, along with partners Logan Simpson Design and Balfour Beatty Construction, worked tirelessly to make this dream a reality – and we’re thrilled to celebrate with all of you.
