Imagine open walkways, fresh air and live bands playing acoustic sets of your favorite songs while you stroll, drink-in-hand, from one local store to the next finding great holiday deals.
On Friday, CityScape Phoenix made this Black Friday dream a reality when it hosted the third annual Alternative Black Friday Vintage Market (ABF).

“Many of our vendors have been participating in the market since its inception, though we’re always looking for new local vendors to keep the market fresh and exciting,” said Matt Bowman, marketing director for CityScape Phoenix.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the public was invited to explore 23 local vendors ranging from vintage jewelry and clothing to paintings, soaps, ceramics and sweets.
The first 300 guests received tote bags complete with coupons to CityScape restaurants and the CitySkate Holiday Ice Rink offered discounted admission before the grand opening Friday evening.
“I had a positive experience; it was well run, in a nice spot, very ideal,” said Tom Budzak, first-time Alternative Black Friday vendor. “I added new customers to my business, so it’s growing!”
Bowman said he estimates 3, 500 people attended this year’s market and as the CityScape team begins to plan for next year, they’ll be looking for ways to make room for even more local vendors.
