We may be moving down 12 floors, but things are very much looking up at Downtown Phoenix Inc.
We’ve been packing our bags and putting the finishing touches on our new second-floor storefront at 1 E. Washington Street on the second floor of CityScape Phoenix.
This new space houses the many facets of our organization including the Downtown Info Center, DTPHX Engagement Lab and administrative offices, which are now all housed together in one space.
This move, as we wrote in January, was an integral step in the growth of our organization.
With a nearly street-level location and more open, inviting and collaborative layout — this new space is more conducive to our work as DPI has grown to focus more on community engagement. (Of course, the modern design, fun pops of color, high ceilings and added square footage don’t hurt either.)
In its new location, the Engagement Lab will play an even greater role in our work. As a creative workspace for people to gather, generate and collaborate around new ideas — the Lab got a particularly chic upgrade with new mobile furniture, meeting spaces and brainstorming tools.
Between the Info Center, the Lab and the large conference room — our new front of house is essentially one large and lofty welcome mat. This is where we look forward to hosting events and conversations, starting with our grand opening celebration on Saturday, May 14.
Coinciding with the illustrious Urban Wine Walk, we’re opening our doors from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and inviting the public to get a first look at our new space and back of house operations. (Tours, handshakes and high-fives will be in abundance.)
So come toast to our next chapter; it’s going to be a grand affair.
