Sure, summer may bring scorching heat and haboobs, but this summer brought some surprises. Since August, a bouquet of new businesses have opened in Downtown Phoenix, and we’re more than just a little excited! Here’s a roundup of nine of our new favorite spots — and we think you’ll love them, too.

SoSoBa Noodle Shop

Downtown Phoenix noodle lovers rejoice — SoSoBa is now open just east of Lola Coffee Bar on Roosevelt Row, and it’s everything we’ve dreamed of and more. The dishes are dynamite, the cocktails are killer, and they’ve got an awesome ambience to boot. Nonstop hours will begin after their sneak peek week. Current hours: Sunday-Wednesday from 5 p.m.-12 a.m.; Thursday-Saturday from 5 p.m.-2 a.m. Located at 214 W. Roosevelt St.

Snoh Ice Shavery

Snoh in the desert? You bet! We’re stoked that Snoh Ice Shavery brought their popular Southern Chinese-inspired shaved ice to Downtown Phoenix. Located next to Antique Sugar and Cobra Arcade, Snoh makes a sweet addition to the neighborhood. Enjoy their boba tea and snow-like shaved ice in a flock of flavors like black sesame, taro, coconut, pistachio, and strawberry, but not before adding toppings like red beans, lychee fruit, honey boba, Fruity Pebbles and more. Hours: Monday-Sunday from 10 a.m.-12 a.m. Located at 801 N. Second St., Ste. 108.

MoonAge Jewelry

It’s never too early to shop for Christmas! And now when you’re at DeSoto Central Market, you can do just that. After getting their start on Mill Avenue in Tempe, MoonAge recently relocated their business to the heart of Roosevelt Row and they brought their beautiful, handmade jewelry with them. The pop-up boutique may be small, but their collection is mighty. Stop by Monday-Sunday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. to check out their beautiful Southwest inspired jewelry, candles, cards and more. Located at 915 N. Central Ave.

Tastybox

Fast food doesn’t have to be unhealthy — and only a week after opening, Tastybox is proof. The cozy and colorful lunch spot serves simple, flavorful and nutritious bento-style lunches. And each day, there are only three items on the menu, including vegan and vegetarian choices. So, if you’re ever feeling indecisive, Tastybox makes ordering a treat. Located at 612 N. Seventh St., right next to its sister shop Street Coffee. Hours: Tuesday-Friday from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Cheba Hut

Got the late-night munchies? Cheba Hut “Toasted” Sandwiches is now open on Seventh Street next to Mother Bunch Brewing. If you hadn’t noticed their new location, you may have spotted their orange VW wagon. Cheba Hut’s pot-themed menu includes toasted sandwiches, salads and “munchies” (think brownies and Rice Krispy treats). The Downtown Phoenix location even has a bar with a bevy of brews on tap. Hours: Monday-Sunday from 10 a.m.-12 a.m. Located at 825 N. Seventh St.

50’s on Adams

The Renaissance Hotel’s new “pop-up” lounge features classic cocktails, and other in-house elixers, as well as a menu of classic American comfort food like meatloaf, chicken pot pie, and even a free-range turkey TV dinner. Make sure to visit soon — they’re only around for three months until the opening of their new urban saloon The Dust Cutter. Mancuso’s Restaurant

When Mancuso’s Restaurant restaurant opened on the upper-level of the Collier Center (201 E. Washington St.) in August, we were pleased as punch! We love their menu of traditional Northern-Italian cuisine. And since they’re only steps away from Talking Stick Resort Arena and Chase Field, Mancuso’s is one of our favorite spots for a pre-game eats and drinks! Read more about Mancuso’s on our blog.

Noodle Bar

If you didn’t catch it on our blog, Otakumen and Pat & Waldo’s have combined and relaunched under one moniker: Noodle Bar. With a new drool-worthy menu and full-service format, Noodle Bar is now open with late night hours in the same location on the ground floor of the Orpheum Lofts. We were lucky enough to get a sneak peek at their new menu, and we fell in love! Hours: Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 a.m.; Sunday closed. Located at 114 W. Adams St., Ste. 103.

Pita Café

Sometimes you just need a mouthwatering gyro and huge Greek salad. Enter: Pita Café at Downtown Phoenix’s Collier Center. The fast-casual lunch spot just opened up next to neighbors Tommy Pastrami, Fired Pie and soon-to-open The Park street food bar. Expect starters like hummus, falafel and baba ghanoush, as well as specialty pitas and bowls for vegetarians, vegans and meat lovers alike. And might we add — their baklava is the bomb. Hours: Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Located at 201 E. Washington St., Ste. 107.
