Believe it or not, 2018 is right around the corner. And if the thought of completing another rotation around the sun isn’t exciting enough for you, this list of new businesses is certain to brighten your day.
From a French café to a bike repair shop (and even some tacos, too), check out what’s coming to Downtown Phoenix in time for the new year.

1. Pig Pen Delicacy

Pork lovers will have nothing to swine about when this new eatery starts slinging pork-filled comfort food and other carbalicious grub — think burgers, nachos, tater tots, fries and more. Pig Pen will be one of several eateries coming to the Union Market concept on the ground floor of the U.S. Bank Center. Union Market will bring small restaurant concepts, shops and services, and an entrepreneurial spirit to the building.

2. Provisions

This artisan pizza concept, also part of Union Market, is slated for the window-wrapped corner space on the ground floor of the building at First Avenue and Adams Street.
 

3. Toasted

The popular grilled cheese gastropub that got its start in the Melrose neighborhood is slated to reopen along Monroe Street on the ground floor of the U.S. Bank Building, as part of the Union Market family.
 

4. La Madeleine Country French Café

The historic Luhrs City Center will soon get a French-infusion when popular East Coast chain, La Madeleine opens on the southeast corner of First Avenue and Jefferson Street. The café serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and wine, and is known for its made-from-scratch baked goods.

5. Serafina Coffee Bar

Longtime downtown entrepreneur Damian Serafine, originally of One Coffee, will bring another caffeinated concept to Downtown Phoenix, also located in the historic Luhrs. Follow Serafina Coffee on Instagram for updates.
 

6. BBQ Trapp Haus

The Roosevelt Row food scene is slated to heat up when Pitmaster Phil the Grill is brings his championship BBQ to the Blocks on Roosevelt development.
 

7. Taco Chelo

A collaboration between veteran downtown restaurateur Aaron Chamberlain, chef Suny Suntanta and artist Gennaro Garcia, Taco Chelo is slated to open November 2. Diners can expect a flavorful menu of tacos, vegetables and drinks.
 

8. Downtown Deli

Genuine Concepts — the team behind Valley hotspots like The Vig and Cobra Arcade Bar — have teamed up with downtown music venue mogul Charlie Levy to reopen Downtown Deli. Expect a worn-in tavern feel with delicious comfort food.
 

9. State 48 Brewery

Downtown Phoenix will get a microbrewery when State 48 Brewery opens in the historic 1927 Welnick Marketplace. The first tenant of the adaptive reuse building on Fourth Avenue and Van Buren Street, State 48 will bring a vast menu of salads, burgers, pizzas and more, plus and an array of craft beers.
 

10. Integrity Bike Works

Downtowners who need bike repair will soon be in luck when Integrity Bike Works opens in the ground floor of the Orpheum Lofts.
 

11. GenuWine Wine Bar

Downtown’s first self-serve, woman-owned wine bar is set to open on the ground floor of the new Union @ Roosevelt development. Headed up by two former school teachers, GenuWine will be part self-pour wine bar, part bottle shop, and feature 24 rotating wines — many from Arizona.
