The General Election (a.k.a the Presidential Election) is slated for Nov. 3, but you need to register by Oct. 15 in Arizona. Whether you’re already registered to vote, or you still need to, we’re here with some important info and dates to help you stay on top of your civic duty.
It can be hard to remember all the important deadlines and dates for the election, so here’s a handy list:
Voters in Maricopa County can choose from any voting center open Oct. 7 thru Nov. 3, including evenings and weekends. All locations will be large enough to allow for physical distancing and safety protocols will be in place. Find your polling place here. Don’t forget to wear a mask.
Due to COVID-19, the CDC recommends voting early and/or by mail if possible. However, if you have to vote in person, Maricopa County Elections has strict social distancing precautions in place to ensure the safety of voters and polling volunteers. Please wear your mask.
Abraham Lincoln once said that elections belong to the people (Honest Abe knew what was up). Having the opportunity to vote is not only a right, it’s a privilege and it’s one of the fundamental cornerstones of our democracy.
Here are some reasons why it’s important to vote:
You can vote in person at any voting center. Visit the Maricopa County Elections to stay updated on voting centers and ballot drop box sites.
YES. If voting in person, you’ll need to show a valid form of photo ID that also lists the address at which you’re registered to vote, for example a valid Arizona driver’s license. More info here.
Only you, a family member, a household member or a designated caregiver can drop off your ballot. More info here.
Early ballots will be mailed out Oct. 7 in Maricopa County. You need to return your ballot by mail no later than Oct. 27.
Drop off your ballot at a polling center or ballot drop box. Don’t worry: You don’t have to stand in line.
