The Downtown Dining scene continues to sizzle as summer winds down.
The owners of Cafe Roma on Central have redone their menu under the new name City Scapes. Like Cafe Roma, City Scapes dishes up huge plates of pasta, monster calzones, and mouth-watering pizza (Students and Military can get all-you-can-eat pizza for $6.99 on Mondays and Fridays), but they also offer gourmet sandwiches ($7.50-$13.50) like the Broad Side Bully (Philadelphia cheese steak), Al Capone (spice-rubbed pork), Golden Gate (San Francisco-inspired falafel), and equally impressive burgers ($6.99-$8.99) like The Miami Cuban (pineapple, bacon and ham), The Wild Bill (bacon, pepper jack and chipotle mayo), and The Chi Town Stacker (topped with thin sliced roasted pork, havarti and special sauce). Stop in and taste for yourself Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
5GuysFive Guys Burgers and Fries Opens to Big Crowds
The lastest addition to the CityScape roster of restaurants is Five Guys Burgers & Fries, the nationally beloved burger joint that will open 200 stores in 2010 and shares a similar cult status to that of the more locally familiar In-N-Out Burger. Lunch and Happy Hour crowds have been strong and Five Guys has already become a popular pregame stop for Diamondbacks fans. The Downtown Ambassadors were spotted ripping into a couple of Five Guys skyscraper burgers the other day and let’s just say that when they weren’t chewing they were smiling. Make sure you fan Five Guys on Facebook.
