The Arizona Science Center is undergoing a major renovation this summer and the improvements are hard to miss.  Those familiar with the design of the unique downtown landmark will notice the extensive changes to the exterior of the structure, while inside three new permanent galleries are being constructed.  Work began in May and is expected to be complete by the end of the year.  Funding for the project came from a voter-approved bond initiative in 2006 and will include a complete overhaul of the lobby, designed to improve ADA access and will provide an air-conditioned visitor queuing area.  Improvements to the exhibit galleries are being financed via The Future of Education is Science capital and endowment program.
