The deadline is past.  The films are in despite a weekend of wet weather that wreaked havoc on both filmmakers and crew.
Now it’s time for the Top 20 lineup of this year’s Almost Famous Film Festival.
theaterThis Thursday at 7:00 p.m. a public screening of the Top 20 from this year’s contest will be held at AMC Arizona Center 24 in Downtown Phoenix.
Seventy-four teams entered this year’s challenge with 60 making the 48-hour deadline.  Time travel dominated the storylines this year as did dramas with comedies being more sparse.  The top three films were unanimous by the panel of judges.  The films that will be screened Thursday are 2-5 minutes in length and were made in just two days or 48 hours and by indie filmmakers from Phoenix, Casa Grande, Flagstaff and Los Angeles.
“We were extremely pleased with the quality of films submitted this year,” said Jae Staats, A3F Director and Founder.  “This will be the best overall Top 20 in the seven years of our existence.  This is definitely a screening to attend and see how much talent we have here in Arizona.”
Tickets for this event are just $8.00 each and can be purchased on the A3F web site at http://www.thea3f.net/2011/index.php. The screening sells out every year so make sure to purchase your ticket today.
