Phelps_DodgeWEBThe Phoenix Business Journal reported the Phoenix School of Law has negotiated a lease for more than 200,000 square feet in the One North Central Tower at Central Avenue and Washington Street.
The eight floors were the former corporate headquarters of Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold who moved to a new tower at 333 N. Central.  There are no estimates on how many students will attend class Downtown, but extensive renovations designed to change corporate space to education space are necessary before opening this fall.
The move will bring occupancy in the One North Central Tower to around 93 percent and support the continued decline in vacancy rates Downtown.  Once the space is occupied, Downtown core class A vacancy is expected to drop to 15.8 percent.  Downtown Phoenix boasts some of the highest occupancy rates in the Valley despite recent economic conditions and the addition of 750,000 square feet of new office space in the past two years.  For more information on the Phoenix School of Law’s downtown move please visit:        Law School Moving to Downtown Phoenix
