Wow-what a treat!  Art in the city and everyone’s invited!!  The Herberger Theater Center is presenting its special summer exhibition, “The Poetry of Arizona’s Landscape” at the University Club of Phoenix, 39 East Monte Vista Road in Phoenix. The reception is open to the public and starts at 5:30-7:00 p.m. The exhibit will run through August 11, 2011
The Herberger Theater’s 2011 guest curator Jim Covarrubias, along with members of the local art community juried the show viewing over 300 images.  They chose 35 pieces with submissions from artists all over the state.  17 artists including Beverly Copen, Kimberly Harris, Maggie Keane, Lisa Peterson Love, Luis Salazar and Dave Wilson will be showcased with their many interpretations of Arizona’s unique terrain.
Again, this First Friday reception is open to the public and there will be music by String Serenade.  Then the gallery at the University Club will be open 9-11 am and 1-5 pm through August 11, 2011.
