Beerducation. No, no, not what you receive while earning a B.A. in communications at a party school, a beerducation is what you get when you attend a lecture about the science of beer – while drinking beer.
And, in case you don’t already have your beerducation, now’s your chance.
Friday, Aug. 3 the Arizona Science Center will transform their Adults’ Night Out lecture series into a local beer tasting with a science lecture on the biology of beer. Michael Mallozzi with Borderlands Brewing Company will give a lecture on “how the sciences of molecular biology, microbiology and biochemistry all started with beer.”
The Beer Lab: Sample the Science, Taste the History (a.k.a. the beer tasting) will feature Valley brewers, including Gordon Biersch and Rock Bottom, dishing out up to 10 samples along with descriptions of the beers and explainations of their brewing processes.
The lecture starts at 7 p.m. and the real fun, erm, the Beer Lab starts afterward.
The event, understandably, is 21 and over only.
