side_oscarThe first-ever Oscar® Roadtrip launched on Monday, Feb. 4 in New York City, and after three weeks of visiting select cities across the country, will make an appearance in Phoenix at Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel during a special Sheraton Social Hour premier wine event from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20.
Guests of the hotel and fans from near and far will have a chance to walk a red carpet and hold an actual Oscar statuette before it arrives on the Hollywood red carpet in time for the 85th Academy Awards® presentation on Sunday, Feb. 24 (ABC 15). Oscar’s journey will be chronicled in videos, photos and blog posts by Oscar Roadtrip reporters and comedians Ben Gleib and Angie Greenup on, @OscarRoadtrip and
The comedians, Gleib and Greenup, will accompany Oscar at each of the special events held in the selected cities along the 21-day journey, including Phoenix. Everyone is invited to follow the progress of the trip, visit the scheduled complimentary Oscar Roadtrip events and take a picture holding the coveted Oscar statuette.

This Oscar Roadtrip engagement will coincide with Sheraton Social Hour, which is a first-of-its- kind, premium wine program to be offered in the Park Lounge lobby at Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel. The Social Hour program, developed by Wine Spectator’s premier wine experts and the Sheraton brand’s global food and beverage team, offers Oscar fans and hotel guests an opportunity to taste specially curated menu of premium wines, all rated by Wine Spectator. All Sheraton Selects wines are rated above 85 and at least four offerings during Sheraton Social Hour will be rated 90+. Each tasting is $5 and includes a pairing of two 2 ounce
