MER12_2116_DraftPickLogo_Color_PMSThe Phoenix Mercury own the #1 Pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft and will host the official Mercury WNBA Draft Viewing Party at Hotel Palomar in Downtown Phoenix’s CityScape on April 15, beginning at 4 p.m. The broadcast of this year’s WNBA Draft will be on ESPN2, beginning at 5 p.m.
The team is offering a limited number of free draft party tickets to Mercury fans. Fans can log on to phxmerc.com/draft to register for a chance to attend the event.
The night will feature exclusive live look-ins from the Mercury’s #1 Draft Pick and Mercury President & COO Amber Cox, from the WNBA Draft in Bristol, Connecticut. Attendees will also enjoy special appearances by Mercury players’ Sammy Prahalis, Krystal Thomas and Erin Thorn, in addition to Mercury head coach & general manager Corey Gaines, Mercury Vice President Ann Meyers Drysdale, Mercury alumni and members from the Mercury Hip Hop Squad.
Following the announcement of the Mercury’s 2013 #1 Draft Pick, the team will host a surprise unveiling on the east side of the Hotel Palomar building.
Mercury fans in attendance will receive a commemorative 2013 WNBA Draft cup as well as complimentary food and soft drinks.
The top pick in the most anticipated draft in league history will make her WNBA debut on May 27 when the Mercury hosts the Chicago Sky. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tickets to her debut game will go on sale on April 15 at 5:30 p.m. and single-game tickets for the entire season will go on-sale April 26.
