fireworks-chase-fieldWith the D-backs out of town and our most patriotic holiday falling on a Thursday you might be a bit bummed. We understand. But really, there’s no need to mope – this just creates an entire weekend worth of fun.
Start by booking a hotel Downtown. You have two options.
1) The Sheraton Phoenix Downtown is offering upgraded rooms starting at $124 with a sweet treat of housemade caramel corn, red and blue cotton candy and pop rocks waiting in your room. To make a reservation, call (866) 716-8134 and mention rate plan LBPKG or visit their website.
2) The Hotel Palomar at CityScape is offering the “$102 and a Round of Brew” staycation package that includes a round of four beers at Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails. To reserve call 602-253-6633 and mention rate code  BREW or visit their website.
Then, head over to the Tilted Kilt for red, white and blue Bomb Pop cocktails and all 3 Olives Vodka drinks and shots for $4 each. Actively serving our country? First, thank you. Second, Military members will receive a 10 percent discount.
If you have little ones in tow, visit the Children’s Museum of Phoenix to create a fabulous fireworks display using paint and a fork. Catch the pun? It’s the Fabulous Fork Fireworks celebration.
Grab dinner and then sample a summer cocktail or two before heading back to your room to watch fireworks shows from around the Valley in air-conditioned comfort.
The D-backs are back in town Friday and they’re making up for missing Independence day by handing out D-backs Stars and Stripes T-shirts to the first 15,000 fans in the gate. Post-game there will be a fireworks spectacular.
Want to see the Chase Field fireworks from a different vantage point? Stroll over to Lustre Rooftop Garden for an all-American rooftop BBQ with burgers, beer party favors, and DJ Heartbreaks. It’s one of the best spots in town to see the fireworks over the stadium and $20 gets you a burger, drink and a show.
Make a staycation out of the weekend, so you can catch 10 local comedians at Stand Up Live for the “Phoenix 4th of July Spectacular.” Tickets are just $7.40 with a two drink minimum.
Whew. Now that’s a Fourth of July weekend.
