Welcome back to school, ASU Downtown Phoenix students!
In between all the learning and memory-making, we understand you will want to have a little fun around our Urban Core. We also understand that college-student budgets are tight.
That’s why we have compiled this short, handy list of awesome deals and free events all around Downtown.
First things first, download and print our ASU Downtown Super Deals coupon sheet. It’s stuffed to the brim with sweet deals on everything from food, to gym memberships, to even shoe shines. Be sure to take advantage of these offers soon, as most of them run until Sunday!
Next, check out these fun, free Downtown events going on this week.
Tomorrow evening, be sure to head down to the open air Phoenix Public Market. Here, you can taste, sample and buy the best in home-grown agriculture and cooking. Stock up on fresh, healthy snacks, or buy some beautiful flowers for your budding college sweet heart. The market runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Thursday, get terrified with your new friends at the Arizona Science Center, with their “Creature Feature Film Series.” This week’s free showing is the body-horror classic, “The Fly.” The mad science starts at 7 p.m.
Already tired of dorm food? Well then head back to the Phoenix Public Market the next day for lunch at Food Truck Friday. You’ll find a bodacious food court comprised of trendy mobile culinary innovators.  Nosh on an eclectic set of offerings, like Cajun burritos and authentic Filipino street cuisine. Food Truck Friday runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Afterward swing over to the Pop Up Park at Civic Space Park, which runs from 1 – 3 p.m. The Downtown Phoenix Ambassadors bring out games, books, soccer nets and more.
Looking to start the semester off the healthy way? Then join us for the Community Yoga Project in Civic Space Park on Saturday morning. Practice liberating Ashtanga yoga while surrounded by the park’s beautiful scenery. Be sure to bring your own mat, some water and friends. The fun starts at 8:30 a.m.
Are you a yoga-fanatic? Well then also check out “Sweat Your Asana Off” at Lustre Rooftop Garden on Monday evenings. This free, hour-long yoga session features guest instructors, a rooftop pool and a great view. Get flexible starting at 7 p.m.
