Grid Bike Share is coming to Downtown Phoenix in December, and they’re asking you where bike-share stations should go.
Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton helped announced Monday the name and logo for the highly anticipated bike share system.
The bright green bikes will begin to appear in high-trafficked areas around the city in December, with the full 500 bikes in service by February 2014.
That leaves plenty of time to suggest a bike-share location, which you can (and should!) do on their website.
The program is operated by CycleHop (not the City of Phoenix) and will be funded with the help of user fees and sponsorships.
User fees start at $5 an hour, $30 a month, and $79 a year (or $59 a year for students).
Though the program is beginning in Downtown and central Phoenix, it will expand to include 250 bikes in Tempe and 250 bikes in Mesa by Spring 2014.
Users will be able to make reservations and locate nearby bicycles using the Social Bicycles mobile app.
If you just can’t get enough of that beautiful “GR:D” design, I suggest you take a look at some of the other work local design firm, eeko studio, has done.
