CityScape Phoenix is excited to kick off Phoenix Comicon with a pre-party fit for everyone — whether you’re a major fan or have never even heard of cosplay. The Quest Fest is an all-ages celebration of gaming and pop culture in downtown, happening Thursday, June 2 from 4-10 p.m. Playing is easy: Your quest is to travel around CityScape for a fun scavenger hunt-like exploration, finishing your journey with a pop-culture themed festival.
But how does it work? First, gather your friends and family and stop by participating CityScape establishments like Squid Ink Sushi, Copper Blues, Urban Outfitters, and Fractured Prune for $2 samples and giveaways. Each store will reward you with a token for advancing to its level of the game. Once you’ve collected five tokens, come to The Fest on Central Avenue to receive a prize for your successful Quest.

The Fest is a free, family-friendly block party celebrating the community and creativity surrounding Comicon. Participate or watch the entertaining Comicon Costume Contest for kids and adults. Winners with the best, most creative outfits will receive an awesome prize like a Tuft & Needle “Mattress of Your Choice,” State Forty Eight apparel, and gift cards.
Following the contest, enjoy a screening of “The Goonies” on Central Avenue. Create your own video game-inspired photos and enjoy music from a live DJ on a cool summer night. The event will also feature State Forty Eight’s Arizona-inspired fashion displayed in their new pop-up shop built out of a shipping container.
CityScape isn’t stopping there though. We are turning this place into an oasis for people to escape to during all the Comicon craziness. The CityScape Power Up Oasis will be a relaxing lounge featuring shade, misters, turf, comfy sofas, and the splash pad. While gaining your own energy back, literally recharge your batteries at the one of many charging stations. There will also be Tuft & Needle inspired comics and old school video games to enjoy during the weekend.
CityScape Comicon
There’s no denying the excitement that takes over downtown Phoenix during the week of Phoenix Comicon. Walking around, you can easily find groups of people dressed in their best costumes, confidently showing their pride for all things Comicon. Perhaps the best part of the week are the events outside the convention, not to mention the themed-specials and deals at businesses all around downtown. Not only is it a great time to people-watch, it’s also a celebration of creativity and the nerd inside all of us.
RSVP on Facebook for more details and info leading up to The Quest Fest on June 2.
