In its fifth year, Urban Wine Walk rookies and veterans are invited to take a self-guided tour of local bars and restaurants along the Valley Metro light rail. Each participating location will serve up 2-oz. samples of wine for $2 to $3 each, accompanied by complimentary snacks.
Whether you’re a novice or maven — the Downtown Phoenix Inc. Urban Wine Walk is the perfect opportunity to visit longtime favorite restaurants or discover something new as you take in the vibrancy of our city. Plus, Wine Walkers can experience the event on foot, bike or light rail as each location is in close proximity to the light rail.
Between 1-6 p.m., participating restaurants will pour three signature wines, but it’s at CityScape Residences where you’ll find a special gift. The first 300 to visit the luxury apartment tower will receive this year’s free commemorative Urban Wine Walk glasses.
Several Wine Walk favorites are back again this year, like Brick Urban Kitchen, Carly’s Bistro, Copper Blues, The Corner, District American Kitchen & Wine Bar, Downtown Public House, The Duce, Short Leash Hot Dogs, Steve’s Grill and The Strand.
Plus, we’re excited to announce that the new DeSoto Central Market is making its Wine Walk debut. DeSoto has been the talk of the town, and now, Wine Walk wayfarers will get the chance to sample their wine menu while exploring every nook and cranny of their beautifully renovated building.
Be sure to stay tuned as we’ll be releasing more destinations (both old and new), maps, and menus in the coming days and weeks.
Participation is free. Just bring your tastebuds, light rail pass and a sense of adventure.
