The city of Phoenix is providing fall internships for college students or recent college graduates as an opportunity to gain valuable experience working in local government.
The unpaid internships are being offering with the Mayor’s Office, City Manager’s Office, the Library, Neighborhood Services, Parks and Recreation, Police, Water Services, and Planning and Development departments, and are being coordinated through the city’s Volunteer Program.
“Now more than ever, having real world experience is a vital part of any higher education. We are proud at the city of Phoenix to provide these opportunities to those who may be our future leaders,” Mayor Greg Stanton said.
Most of the internships will begin in September and end in December, with flexible schedules available Monday through Friday. Requirements will vary depending on the internship, and the applications will be accepted until Aug. 3.
The city’s Volunteer Program was created in 2011 to better connect residents with city service opportunities and provide them with the ability to get involved directly in their community.
