As Downtown Phoenix’s impressive roster of excellent cuisine, refreshing beverages, and diverse retail options continues to grow, here’s your chance to explore the newest establishments that have recently opened or are opening soon around the neighborhood.

Several new businesses in the area stem from established ownership, adding to the many Downtown destinations we’ve already come to love.

Get to know the new menus, services, and friendly faces from these recently opened businesses in Downtown Phoenix. They have a lot to offer to the community, from aesthetic services to frozen espresso martinis (just in time for summer)!

Cactus Cloud Cafe

Cactus Cloud Café

This Southwest-inspired cafe was recently brought to life by budding entrepreneur Quinlan Hamann. He cultivated his love for coffee making from his background at the long-standing local coffee shop, Hava Java. Cactus Cloud Cafe is located in the space formerly occupied by Hidden Track Café and Bodega.

Mr. Baan’s Bar & Mookata

From the folks that brought you the esteemed authentic Thai restaurant, Lom Wong, comes a place to gather and share unique cocktails, wines, and spirits while feasting on charcoal-grilled Thai barbecue. Mr. Baan’s is located in the alley behind Lom Wong on Portland Street. Their menu includes Mookata, a distinctive cook-it-yourself barbecuing experience that pairs well with their herbaceous cocktails that highlight ingredients found in the cuisines of Thailand.

Full Speed Chicken & Ribs

The same beloved locals who brought you Little Miss BBQ have recently brought this Southern and Nashville-inspired cuisine to the Valley. It features classic Southern cuisine, like hot fried chicken with pecan-smoked pork ribs, pulled pork, and biscuits. You can find Full Speed Chicken & Ribs in the Roosevelt Row Arts District next to Disco Dragon.

Formerly known as Lovesack, this steamed fast food concept is a go-to spot for dumpling lovers. Customize your Lovebox with three simple steps and enjoy the flavors of this new local favorite. Find out where heroes get remembered by visiting this hot new cocktail bar featuring modern cocktails for the adventurous drinker. Legends Never Die is the latest concept brought to you by the hospitality group Those Pour Bastards. Under new ownership, the same great cuisine that Dog Haus Biergarten is known for has reopened for business at CityScape. The Taco Spot

Carry On

This retro aviation-themed cocktail bar is expected to land in our neighborhood this summer. Think 1960s and early ‘70s old-school luxury air travel meets sophisticated cocktail bar. Carry On will be located in the Renaissance Square, adjacent to its sister concepts, Wren & Wolf and Trophy Room.

Three New Concepts at Arizona Center

Teddy and Katie Myers, the talented hospitality duo behind Pretty Decent Concepts, are bringing three brand new spots to a 10,000-square-foot space at Arizona Center, ultimately aiding the Center’s resurgence as a culinary destination. The steakhouse, currently dubbed “Cleaverman,” will offer walk-in availability with full-service sit-down tables and reserved areas.

The concept plans to incorporate a lively dining environment, with a bar area and DJ performances. In addition to the steakhouse, there will be a vintage martini lounge and a multicourse chef’s tasting menu eatery.
