DPP Blog - Downtown Salon Phoenix (1)
Downtown Salon Phoenix opened in 2010 with a talented and dedicated staff that resulted in the salon receiving the “Best Place to Relax” award from the Downtown Phoenix Partnership’s Annual DREAMR Awards. The high-level and quality service paired with a friendly and attentive staff is what draws loyal patrons back again and again.
“Our mission is to provide Downtown Phoenix with the best salon and spa services in a comfortable and inviting atmosphere,” said the salon’s owner, Trankie Romero.
According to Romero, the most popular services are the manicures and pedicures. The pedicure is a luxurious one-hour experience that incorporates soothing botanical scrubs, healing essential oils and river rocks. After a heavenly footbath, an ultra-hydrating cream is massaged into the foot and calf making the muscles and skin feel like new.
One treatment that is often overlooked is the seaweed body wrap, a one-hour detoxifying body treatment that helps tighten and tone the skin leaving your whole body soft and silky.
When asked, ‘What is the biggest misconception with salons?’, Romero replied, “I think a lot of men still look at salons as a women only destination, but Downtown Salon Phoenix offers a variety of treatments specifically for men. For example, our gentleman’s facial helps with shaving irritation and hydration, which is especially important here in the Sonoran Desert. Our sports pedicure takes care of rough, calloused feet and offers detailed cuticle work to prevent ingrown toe nails. Also, our massage services help relieve tired, sore muscles from everyday stress. All of these services help any man stay on top of his game.”
Since Romero is a local business owner, I wanted his thoughts on Downtown Phoenix. “I love that we are part of this beautiful transformation that is happening to the Downtown area. This resurgence excites people about Downtown’s night life, new restaurants and entertainment venues. It’s only the beginning though; as more people are moving to the area, the more life Downtown will have,” said the salon’s owner.

We are seeing more people explore Downtown Phoenix. When more people reside here, the more we will feel like we are living in the fifth largest city in the United States. I’d like to see more shopping options, a grocery store and more foot traffic. I see Downtown Phoenix as a shopping destination in the years to come with hip, new shops while embracing its local art scene.”
And finally, I asked, ‘Where do you see your salon in five years?’ Romero replied, “Since our doors have opened, we have steadily grown each year. We have grown from a staff of five to 14 employees. We will continue to grow and offer the best salon and day spa experience in Downtown Phoenix.”
