Downtown Phoenix boasts some of the best (and most authentic) Irish pubs in the land. So don’t be surprised if a boisterous street party pops up outside your office window or the sounds of bagpipe music fill the streets. On Tuesday, March 17, downtown goes green for a full day of Irish-inspired food, music, drinking and St. Patrick’s Day merriment.

St. Paddy’s Day Street Faire — Seamus McCaffrey’s Irish Pub and Restaurant
Monroe Street will be blocked off outside the pub to make room for a live music stage and beer garden. The lineup includes Seanachie, Kilted Spirit and the Sea Merchants with Irish step dancers and bagpipers performing throughout the day. Known for its extensive selection of Scotch, Seamus McCaffrey’s also carries Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks and Kiltlifter on tap. Doors open at 8 a.m. with $10 cover. Located at 18 W. St. Paddy’s Day Party — Rose and Crown
Located in historic Heritage and Science Park, Rose and Crown will celebrate St. Paddy’s with a beer garden, prizes and live music by Celtic rock band Cockswain and DJ Evil Luck. The kitchen will be cooking up traditional Irish specialties including Guinness stew, corned beef and cabbage, and fish and chips. Admission is free and the party starts at 11 a.m. Located at 628 E. St. Patrick’s Day Fun — The Turf Downtown Public House
There are no strangers at The Turf — just friends you haven’t met yet. Come try more than 120 different types of whiskey and excellent drafts. St. Patrick’s Day at the Irish Cultural Center and McClelland Irish Library
Enjoy guided tours and live music from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The McClelland Library will also be open for browsing, genealogy services and family story time. In the evening from 6-9 p.m., don’t miss live music by De Mairt Ceol,  a raffle drawing, cash bar, roving theatre performances and an open house — including admission to the Sandra Day O’Connor exhibit “The Cowgirl Who Became a Justice.” A $10 donation is suggested for admission to the festivities.
