Investment in the Downtown Phoenix Bioscience sector continues to grow with a major announcement by Mayor Gordon and plans for a new medical lab. 
bioscienceIn his recent State of the City Address, Mayor Gordon announced that investor Patrick Soon-Shiong plans to locate his newest non-profit venture, the Institute for Advanced Health, in Downtown Phoenix.  The institute will be the largest healthcare data center in the world and will house a central database designed to improve communication between providers, patients and researchers.

In other Biomedical news, on April 7 the Downtown, Aviation and Economy Subcommittee voted to allow the City of Phoenix to begin negotiating a lease for vacant land on the Biomedical Campus.  Boyer Company plans to build a new medical lab building that may add an additional 150,000 square feet of lab space to the area.
