Bars & Nightlife Food, Restaurants & Dining Music & Events Spotlight Fara Illich January 28, 2015

The 12-block fan party that is Super Bowl Central is now open in the heart of Downtown Phoenix. And in the ultimate festival-like experience, adults will be able to consume alcoholic beverages on the streets and sidewalks — within the nine-block area shown in yellow dashes pictured below.

This type of special-event liquor license is unprecedented for downtown, making this the largest block party we’ve ever had. The special event liquor license area — warmly referred to as SELLA — will feature several concession stands, a beer garden on Adams Street and Central Avenue, plus attendees can stop by one of several participating locations to grab a craft beer or wine.

Festival-goers can’t bring alcohol in or out of the special event area, and before entering will pass through one of several security gates where those 21 and older can get a wristband that allows them to drink alcohol within the limits.

So while you’re out and about experiencing the largest family-friendly, fan fest to come to downtown, stop by one or two — maybe even three! — of these downtown bars and restaurants.
