Downtown Phoenix is home to some of the best schools in the nation and Phoenix Community Alliance wants to help tell that story. That’s why the business advocacy group has launched a new campaign, High Rising Schools of Phoenix, which highlights the diverse schools in Downtown Phoenix.
The campaign is complemented by a new website, highrisingschoolsphx.com, as well as digital brochure. This site is the new go-to hub for learning everything there is to know about the 75 educational institutions in greater Downtown Phoenix — from public schools to private schools, from K-8 to 9-12 and higher education.
“The vision behind this dynamic website is to enlighten the business community to the quality schools available in Downtown Phoenix,” said Devney Preuss, Executive Director of Phoenix Community Alliance. “This campaign will serve as a very useful tool for community and economic development organizations that work to attract, retain and grow companies in Downtown Phoenix,” she said.
From preschool through doctoral programs, Downtown Phoenix offers world-class learning opportunities within walking distance from the historic neighborhoods and urban core.
Through their proximity to the cultural institutions and civic engagement opportunities in the heart of the nation’s fifth-largest city, schools in greater Downtown Phoenix offer a multicultural and multifaceted education experience that can’t be duplicated in suburban institutions.
Why Greater Downtown Phoenix Schools Standout

  • Phoenix No. 1 School District has higher graduation rates than other elementary districts
  • A Stanford University study revealed student growth is at the 99th percentile, ahead of other local school districts
  • U.S. News and World Report named four Phoenix Union schools to its 2018 U.S. Best High Schools list
  • Nine teachers in Phoenix Union High School District earned National Board Certification in 2018, the second-most in Arizona

11,000 additional residents are expected to move to Downtown Phoenix in the next 5 years. In fact, Maricopa County was ranked number one for population growth in 2017. With growth on this scale and more families moving to the area, the High Rising campaign is important for families moving to the core of the Valley.
“The website is a resource for the families in those businesses who want to learn more about Downtown Phoenix schools. As more employees want to live where they work, this campaign speaks to the quality education choices that exist in Downtown Phoenix,” Preuss added.
