During a special meeting on Friday, March 29, Phoenix Community Alliance (PCA) board of directors approved the appointment of Jon Brodsky as new Executive Director, effective April 15, 2019.

Brodsky succeeds interim Executive Director Devney Preuss, who was promoted to Downtown Phoenix Inc. (DPI) President & CEO on Jan. 1. PCA is the membership affiliate of DPI.

Brodsky joins PCA having spent nearly 15 years with the City of Phoenix. While with the city, Brodsky held leadership positions across many departments, including Communications, Parks and Recreation and Phoenix Convention Center.

Brodsky benefits from a deep familiarity with the entire DPI organization and has developed strong working relationships with staff while collaborating on community programs like FitPHX, large-scale events like NCAA Final Four and PCA initiatives like the recent Talking Stick Resort Arena renovation deal and ongoing efforts to activate Margaret T. Hance Park.

Prior to being hired at the city, Brodsky worked as a public information coordinator for Tempe Elementary Schools and as a broadcast reporter for KPHO-Channel 5.

Brodsky holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (American History) from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Public Administration Degree from Arizona State University, where he currently serves as a faculty associate.

“I am incredibly excited to join the Phoenix Community Alliance team,” said Brodsky. “PCA’s board of directors, Members and staff are collaborating with businesses, non-profits, educational institutions, neighborhood groups and the City of Phoenix to continue catalyzing Downtown Phoenix’s renaissance. PCA’s cross-sector work demonstrates the passion and drive for innovative partnerships to benefit the community.”
