Residents in and around Downtown Phoenix will see vehicle and equipment from multiple public safety jurisdictions as part of conference activities near the Phoenix Convention Center.
On Wednesday, June 19, the Phoenix Police and Fire departments and the Phoenix Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will conduct public safety training exercises in the Downtown Phoenix area as part of conference programming.
The exercise will have vehicular and pedestrian traffic restricted on both Washington and Jefferson streets with a closure on Third Street. The restriction will take place from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. with a closure on Washington between 5th and 4th Streets for a short period of time around 8 a.m.
It is recommended allow extra time for travel and to use Monroe or Jackson streets as an alternative route. The map below shows the affected areas that will be restricted through the morning rush hour:
