When ghosts and pumpkin spice is in the air, Halloween is approaching. In Downtown Phoenix, there are fun and spooky events for everyone to enjoy.
Historic Downtown buildings are filled with more than just vintage decor. Stop by the Orpheum Theatre or Rosson House for tours and stories of what lurks within the walls. If wine is your treat of choice, Genuwine has a sweet pairing you won’t want to miss.
Get cozy watching Hocus Pocus with live music from the Phoenix Symphony or keep it kid-friendly with spooky-themed activities at the Children’s Museum.

FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel and Match Market & Bar is the host of an all-ages community pumpkin carving party for guests and local residents. Best pumpkin carving techniques get a chance to win an award! Pumpkins and carving kits are complimentary — while supplies last — there will also be food and drink specials. Guests are encouraged to dress in their best Halloween costumes. Children and pets are welcome at this family-friendly event.

Trick-or-Treat at the Phoenix Children’s Museum is back with three days of FA-BOO-LOUS fun! Boogie down on the dance floor, enter the Fashion Fright Show, make a Spooky Tree in the Art Studio, attend story time with local children’s book authors, Teydon Rae and A.M. Foree, AND Trick-or-Treat through all three floors of imaginative exhibits. Grab your family-friendly costumes and get ready for a day of Halloween festivities.

Join The Phoenix Symphony for this magical Halloween romp through Salem. Follow Max, Allison, and Dani as they match wits with the legendary Sanderson sisters of the film Hocus Pocus. The Phoenix Symphony plays the score as the film is shown on the screen above the stage.

Airing every year on Disney, the animated television special, adapted from the bestselling Spookley book series, has been a long-time Halloween tradition for families all across the country. A Theatre For Young Audiences musical with a big heart, Spookley The Square Pumpkin: The Musical is no tricks and nothing but a treat for all ages.

Immerse yourself in the history and haunts of the Orpheum Theatre after dark. The Orpheum Ghost Tour is a 60-minute walking tour that will take you to the darkest recesses of the theatre. It is a unique way to experience the theatre’s spirited history with a knowledgeable guide from Phoenix Ghost Tours. Each tour offers you opportunities to explore places normally off-limits to the public, ask questions, and perhaps leave with a story of your own. All proceeds go to The Friends of the Orpheum Theatre, a non-profit that serves to provide historic, educational, and fundraising support for the historic Orpheum Theatre.

Silent Sundays in October features Lon Chaney in the horror classic Phantom of the Opera from 1925. Enjoy the movie-going experience of the bygone era of silent film, seated in the wonder of Phoenix’s only remaining movie palace, the beautifully restored Orpheum Theatre. Now in its 21st season, Silent Sundays features a classic silent film accompanied live by world renowned organist Brett Valliant on the Orpheum Theatre’s Mighty Wurlitzer pipe organ. Bring the whole family!

Celebrate Halloween inside Phoenix’s own 1895 Victorian house! Explore the Rosson House and experience spooky and historic objects, including a mourning dress, wicker coffin, and a replica Ouija board. After exploring the house, check out crafts and stories in The Bungalow museum store for spiced cider, candy, and desserts from the aptly named Vampire Penguin food truck. Costumes and photographs are encouraged for this unique Halloween event.

Master dance teacher, Hodgie Jo will teach “Thriller” on the Pavilion with live music by Mucci. Attendees are encouraged to come in Halloween costumes. The Performance Pop-Up series is a free outdoor presentation that celebrates the depth and variety of Phoenix’s talent and provides high-quality music, dance, and theatrical programming in a safe and welcoming environment.
