One of the many perks of a busy, growing Downtown Phoenix is having easy access to the Valley Metro light rail system.
Whether you’re Downtown for mega events like the 2024 Men’s Final Four®, or you simply want to explore the walkable Evans Churchill neighborhood, home to the Roosevelt Row Arts District, the light rail will get you there stress-free.
Hop off the Roosevelt/Central Ave. station for a vibrant playground of good food, drinks, community, and local art.

Known for its rotating local art gallery, comfy couches, and cozy décor, Fair Trade Café is one of the longest-standing coffee shops in Downtown Phoenix. It’s also a pillar in the community as a safe space where business owners and organizations often gather for meetings or events.

This two-level bar honors the spirits of Mexico. From tequila to mezcal, all things agave are the stars here. At BARCOA, you can grab a craft cocktail in the basement, take a free Spanish class upstairs, listen to live music on the patio and see great works of art by Latinx and Indigenous artists at the connecting art collective, Xico Inc.

Founded by local nonprofit Archwood Exchange, the ACRES Community Creators Marketplace is the organization’s latest effort to empower our community by developing and supporting local small Black-owned businesses. This store is the home to over 30 local businesses while working towards paving the way for new entrepreneurs and building generational wealth.

This one-of-a-kind crystal shop offers oracle readings, divination, guided meditation, sound baths, herbal baths, remedies, and more. Owned by Havana, the store also carries a variety of crystals, candles, smoke cleansing sticks, and spiritual colognes.

This self-serve taproom offers a rotating selection of 35 draft beverages. Explore and pour your craft beer, and definitely try the wings and poutine. In addition to drinks, Tap That Downtown offers a full menu of delicious pub food and flatbreads.

Flagship Restaurant Group brought together three concepts in one adaptive reuse venue at the corner of 2nd and Garfield Streets in 2022, and it has been buzzing with activity ever since. Experience duckpin bowling at Châm Pang Lanes and try their supercharged bubbles on tap. Palma will transport you from the desert to an island retreat engulfed in a nursery of palm trees. If you find the donkey, you’ve located the speakeasy Ghost Donkey, a Mexican-inspired tequila and mezcal bar.

The Churchill is a venue made of shipping containers home to ten small local businesses. Grab a bite and a sip and enjoy the 9,000-square-foot courtyard for dining, drinking, socializing, shopping, and learning. The space is often activated with curated events, yoga classes, and pop-up art galleries. Local artisans set up shop around the venue for Sidewalk Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekly.

This Mexican burger concept boasts the flavors from Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Hamburguesas Y Cervezas has an assortment of burgers, chicken tortas, wings, salads, specialty cocktails, margaritas, and 15 draft beers.

Built in 1920 and named after the widow of Thomas Pemberton, CEO of the power company that preceded APS, the historic Pemberton mansion is now a self-proclaimed “adult playground” home to several local restaurants, retail businesses, and plenty of public art by local artists.

Locally-owned food and beverage company Fork & Dagger Hospitality has four restaurants in RoRo. Luckys Indoor Outdoor is a neighborhood hangout with rotating food trucks and live music on the patio. Kähvi Coffee + Cafe is an excellent third space home to Drag Disco Brunch and unique seasonal lattes. Sake Haus is a sushi bar with a Tokyo street vibe, and next door is Pedal Haus, an elevated gastro-pub with award-winning craft beer.

Greenwood Brewing is a woman-owned brewing company where every pint is purposeful. Founded by Megan Greenwood, the brewery serves up an array of brews, including the popular Herstory Pale Ale, the Purpose Pilsner, and the Warrior Hazy IPA. Stop by for one of those classics or try an experimental brew like the Girl Dinner Saison or the Blueberry Wheat, which are available for a limited time.

This retail and coffee shop is known for its thoughtfully curated home decor, furniture collection, and art book library. The attached coffee shop has an array of espresso-based drinks, organic teas, mocktails, fresh baked goods, and charcuterie boards.

This art boutique hotel is inspired by music, fashion, local art, and culture. With several rotating art exhibitions to the local art in each guest room, you’ll leave here a fan of what Phoenix has to offer. MATCH Market & Bar is located inside the hotel and offers plates of comfort food, home décor, and locally made souvenirs.

GenuWine is a self-serve wine bar with a focus on all things local. Enjoy a cozy atmosphere, build-your-own charcuterie board, small plates, and other bites. This unique concept is the perfect venue for a group wanting to experience Arizona wine and local art. The wine bar also hosts book clubs and trivia nights.

This art-centric coffee shop serves up local love with a variety of coffee, cold brews, craft beer, wine, and pastries. Passionate about local art, Valley Coffee Company partners with the nonprofit Artlink to curate an art gallery in the shop. Each artwork is paired with a QR Code guests can scan to learn more about the piece and its artist.
