Program Overview
Downtown Phoenix Inc. (DPI) Street Pole Banner Program manages the exclusive use of decorative banners to enhance the streetscape and publicize special events, organizations, and activities in the Downtown Business Core. The program encompasses more than 300 poles throughout the Downtown Phoenix Enhanced Municipal Service District (Seventh Street on the east to Third Avenue on the west, and Fillmore Street on the north to the Union Pacific tracks (south of Jackson Street) on the south) that can be used by a variety of eligible organizations.
Banner Order Checklist
Are you ready to place an order? Please review the REQUIRED steps below to prepare for your banner installation.
- Finalize Site Selection: Recommended 2+ months prior to installation
- Submit Completed Art Files:Required no less than 4 weeks prior to installation
- Submit Signed Installation Agreement: Requiredno less than 2 weeks prior to installation
- Send Certificate of Liability Insurance naming Downtown Phoenix Inc. (DPI) as additional insured party: Required no less than 2 weeks prior to installation
Please note: Rush orders may be permitted based on availability.
Program Eligibility + Design Guidelines
Banners may not be used for the sole purpose of advertising (merchandise, products, or a corporate entity). The primary purpose is to enhance the visual experience for Downtown visitors, employees, and residents.
Demand for banner space often exceeds supply; therefore certain users are given priority:
- Educational facilities or other non-profit groups based Downtown that is hosting an event or campaign
- Groups hosting an event or convention at the Phoenix Convention Center, Chase Field, Footprint Center or other Downtown venues
- Special event or activity occurring Downtown that is open to the public
- Any entity wishing to promote an event, exhibit, or celebration of civic interest within Downtown
- Other organizations as determined appropriate by DPI
Logo use – The use of a sponsor or company logo can consume no more than 20% of the visible banner area.
Unacceptable content includes, but is not limited to:
- Messaging that is political or religious in subject matter
- Specific pricing or individual product promotion
- Messages promoting tobacco and or alcohol products
Please note: Final artwork must be approved by Downtown Phoenix Inc. before production.
Design Specifications + Templates
Downtown Phoenix Inc. offers one standard banner size. Please refer to our design specification and naming conventions to ensure an efficient printing process.
Pricing
Pricing includes the production, installation, and removal of two, double-sided banners per pole for a period lasting no more than 14 days.
Additional charges apply for:
- Extended duration surcharge (more than 14 days): 15% 14+ days; 25% 30+ days
- Rush order fees may be incurred if the artwork, or any other required materials, are delayed.
