Downtown Phoenix Inc. Announces 2025 Board Leadership to Support Next Chapter of Growth

Following its 10th anniversary, Downtown Phoenix Inc. (DPI) is proud to unveil its board roster for the year, comprised of 21 dedicated local business and community leaders. The board members bring diverse representation from various sectors, united in their commitment to driving the continued revitalization of Downtown Phoenix.

Over the past 10 years, DPI has retained 10 of its 11 original Investors who all vastly contribute to the economic and social advancement of Downtown, including Western Alliance Bank, Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Public Service, Arizona State University, Lewis Roca, City of Phoenix, Phoenix Suns, RED Development, UnitedHealthcare and Visit Phoenix, and the addition of HKS and Wexford Science + Technology in 2021. Executives from the Investor companies serve on the board of directors, including Mayor Kate Gallego and City Manager Jeffrey Barton from the City of Phoenix. As part of the City of Phoenix’s investment in DPI, Mayor Kate Gallego appoints four community leaders each year to also serve on the board and advise on the organization’s work plan initiatives.

This year, Ron Meritt, Owner, ON Advertising, has joined the board as an Investor to supplement DPI’s marketing and PR strategy and expand its mission-driven messaging on a national level.  This includes the City of Phoenix and DPI’s shared goal of creating a safe and inclusive environment and leading with services for those in need.

“With such strong and diverse leadership at the helm, Downtown Phoenix is positioned to make significant strides in growing equitably and sustainably with a community-first approach,” said Mike Ebert, Chair of DPI’s board of directors and managing partner at RED Development. “Close communication and coordination with our valued partners is essential to driving real change.”

In addition to DPI’s board of directors, the organization’s Enhanced Municipal Services District (EMSD) division is guided by an advisory board, a collective of individuals who represent the Downtown business core, where DPI deploys some of its most critical street-level services highlighted by its DTPHX Ambassadors, Clean + Green Team, and two dedicated outreach navigators contracted through dehp Integrative Care.  In addition to business development, community engagement, marketing, and events, these services comprise DPI’s deliverables to the city’s 90-square-block Enhanced Municipal Services District. The EMSD advisory board appoints two representatives to serve on the DPI Board of Directors each year.

Downtown Phoenix Inc. is powered by affiliates that fulfill its overarching mission, including Phoenix Community Alliance, Greater Phoenix’s preeminent business leadership and advocacy organization, and the Downtown Phoenix Community Development Corporation, a grant-funded nonprofit that works to advance the development and redevelopment of housing and mixed-use projects that will contribute to a more equitable and inclusive Downtown.
