Downtown Phoenix Inc. Launches Community Resource Hub to Strengthen Connection, Safety and Support
Downtown Phoenix Inc. (DPI) announced today the opening of the DTPHX Community Resource Hub, a new center designed to connect residents, employees, and visitors with essential resources while creating a safe and welcoming space in the heart of Downtown.
Located at CityScape near the recently opened Valley Metro South Central Extension/Downtown Hub and one block east of the new Phoenix Police Department headquarters, the Hub will serve as a central place for information, support, and safety.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony with community members, stakeholders, and elected officials will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 1 E. Washington St., Suite 130, in Downtown Phoenix.
“The DTPHX Community Resource Hub is about creating connections and coordinated responses to the needs of our community,” said Devney Majerle, President & CEO of Downtown Phoenix Inc. “From transportation and safety to everyday resources, this space brings partners together to collaborate and support our growing Downtown in meaningful and accessible ways. There are so many partners involved in making this Community Resource Hub available to the public, including RED Development, Valley Metro, and the City of Phoenix.”
“RED Development is honored to partner with Downtown Phoenix Inc. on the creation of the Community Resource Hub,” said Mike Ebert, Managing Partner of RED Development. “This initiative reflects our shared vision for a vibrant and inclusive Downtown that not only supports the city’s continued growth but also strengthens the connections that make Phoenix a dynamic place to live, work, and visit.”
“This space, created in partnership with Downtown Phoenix Inc., offers a welcoming environment where riders can receive custom transit travel assistance," said Jessica Mefford-Miller, Valley Metro CEO. “Whether it’s navigating the new two-line rail system, planning a trip or getting help with fare and transit questions working closely with Downtown Phoenix Ambassadors, we’re ensuring that riders have access to friendly, knowledgeable support right in the heart of the city,” added Jessica Mefford-Miller.
“This Hub demonstrates how Phoenix continues to innovate to meet the needs of a growing city. By coordinating services in one central location, we are improving access, enhancing safety, and supporting our residents, workers, and visitors with thoughtful, people-focused solutions,” Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego said.
A Centralized Space for Support, Safety, and Visitor Resources
The Community Resource Hub will feature:
- Dēhp Integrative Care’s Outreach Navigators, trained behavioral health professionals who counsel individuals experiencing homelessness, provide transportation when needed, and connect them to essential services and shelter to support long-term stability.
- The City of Phoenix’s Community Assistance Program (CAP) team, who will collaborate with the dēhp Integrative Care’s Outreach Navigators to provide on-scene crisis intervention and behavioral health support.
- Partnership with Valley Metro, which will provide accessible transit and mobility information, including trip planning and transfer guidance, Copper Card balance checks, and general assistance and rider support.
- Upward and Onward, which is a groundbreaking initiative in Downtown Phoenix that aims to increase employment opportunities for graduating high school seniors with disabilities throughout the Phoenix Union High School District and bridge the gap between local businesses seeking entry-level employees and students eager to embark on their professional journeys.
- The DTPHX Ambassadors, who will continue to serve as Downtown's 24-member roving hospitality team, working with the partners within the Hub to assist the community and make people's experiences in Downtown Phoenix safe and enjoyable. The Clean + Green Team will also continue to serve as eyes and ears of Downtown Phoenix, helping direct people to resources while keeping Downtown clean.
Part of a Growing Downtown Vision
The opening of the DTPHX Community Resource Hub builds on DPI’s strong partnership with the City of Phoenix’s Office of Homeless Solutions and its commitment to providing services. By adding two full-time dēhp Integrative Care Outreach Navigators and working closely with the City’s Community Assistance Program, DPI is better prepared than ever to support a growing city and advance the goal of connecting as many people as possible to housing and essential services.
This commitment extends beyond the Hub itself, strengthening DPI’s ongoing We’re in this Together resource guide. The guide brings together dozens of service providers, nonprofit organizations, and crisis hotlines in one easy-to-access location – ensuring that whether you are experiencing homelessness, facing hardship, or simply looking for ways to give back, help is just a call or a couple of clicks away.
In the broader context of Downtown’s growth, the DTPHX Community Resource Hub complements major civic investments like the Valley Metro South Central Extension/Downtown Hub, the new police headquarters, and ongoing infrastructure improvements. Together, these advancements reinforce Downtown Phoenix as a place where community, safety, and opportunity intersect.
