Come in to The Nash for a cold drink and some great jazz before tackling the rest of the First Friday attractions on Roosevelt Row.

Michael is a seasoned guitarist whose expressive playing and deep musicality have earned him recognition across multiple states and decades. Whether performing solo, leading his own trio, or collaborating with established jazz ensembles, he brings warmth, skill, and authenticity to every note.

With a career spanning over three decades, Michael had been a staple in the Southern California music scene, captivating audiences with his guitar playing. Beginning his musical journey at 15, he quickly honed his skills by picking songs off records, and by the age of 18, he had formed his first band. He went on to study privately with renowned guitarists Joe Diorio, Ted Greene, and Ron Eschete. He later graduated from the prestigious Dick Grove School of Music Guitar Program in 1982, a school often referred to as “The West Coast Berklee.” While jazz has been his primary focus, his musical versatility has led him to perform in a wide array of genres, including Top 40 bands and even a country ensemble. Over the years, he has shared the stage with some of the finest musicians in Southern California, including Llew Mathews, Sherry Williams, Luther Hughes, Dave Enos, Bruce Lett, Kendall Kay, and Jim Gordon. In 2014, he was part of a small swing band that released a live CD, showcasing his talent. Free.
