Now in its fourth year, this free-entry, head-to-head, multi-round cocktail competition invites guests to enjoy an immersive experience centered around creativity, community, and craft spirits. What began as a way to meaningfully connect industry professionals and get them excited about working with a locally made spirit has evolved into a standout moment for the Arizona's bar scene, now a showcase of the state's bartending talent, grounded in the terroir and culture of the Southwest. The Suncliffe Showdown encourages competitors to think deeply about the landscape they live and work in, inviting them to explore other Arizona-grown ingredients and draw inspiration from the region's unique elements, ecosystems, and culture. The showdown recognizes bartenders as true craftspeople offering them not only a platform for their creativity, but also a $500 cash prize for the winner. Plus the connections at this event don't stop at the final pour, past winners and runners-up stay involved through future competitions. The 2024 winner will return this year as a judge, bringing their expertise to the panel, while the runner-up will collaborate with organizers to develop a secret ingredient used in one of the rounds.
