Details

The NYC-based band draws inspiration from both the past and present, clearly influenced by the legends of the 1940s-1960s, such as Tadd Dameron, Joe Henderson, Benny Golson, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Bud Powell, Ahmad Jamal, Bobby Timmons, and Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, among others. At the same time, they are inspired by contemporary greats like Tardo Hammer, Joe Farnsworth’s Time to Swing, the 11th St. Bar Quintet, Grant Stewart, Michael Kanan, and more. Rather than limiting their sound to terms like “Hard-Bop,” “Be-Bop,” or “Modern Jazz,” the band’s music blends these styles with the Great American Songbook and classical influences. The result is a sound characterized by a strong swing feel, lyrical melodies, simple yet sophisticated harmonies, and dynamic communication between musicians. $34 - $39.
