18 Fall & Winter Events Coming Up in Downtown Phoenix

Fall is just around the corner, and the eager anticipation of back-to-back, pumpkin spice-fueled festivities waits for no one.

While the temperatures may still be testing our patience, Downtown Phoenix is looking ahead to the season we’ve all been waiting for, and the calendar is already teeming with autumnal celebrations.

Downtown Phoenix Inc. (DPI) is dedicated to championing events that are family-friendly, budget-friendly, art-centric, multicultural, inclusive, and that activate street-level businesses and public spaces.

Here’s a first look at the events coming up in Downtown Phoenix this fall & winter that are produced, co-produced, or sponsored by DPI: 

The Classics Film Series

The Orpheum Theatre’s beloved annual tradition is back again, bringing digitally remastered features to the silver screen. Throughout the entire holiday season, film buffs can catch screenings of beloved cult classics playing in a historic venue. Downtown Phoenix Inc. is proud to partner with Friends of the Orpheum Theatre to present The Classics.

El Grito

Celebrate Mexican Independence Day and kick off Hispanic Heritage Month with an unforgettable evening of live music, ballet folklórico, mariachi, lucha libre, authentic food, arts and crafts, beer, margaritas, and entertainment for the entire family.

Lotería de Arte

Keep the Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations going! Play the traditional game of Lotería and enjoy a night of celebration featuring a local artist exhibition with new artwork from over 20 artists, live music, Lotería, prizes, market vendors, and more family-friendly fun.

Midtown Neighborhood Quarterly Clean-Up

Join The Flock and Midtown Neighborhood Association in keeping our community vibrant, welcoming, and beautiful by participating in the next installment of this quarterly neighborhood cleanup volunteer series.

Noche en Blanco

Don your best monochromatic ivory ensemble for a picturesque evening in the park featuring a decadent banquet and live entertainment, all illuminated by decorative table lights and the starry night sky above.

All proceeds from Noche en Blanco benefit the Hance Park Conservancy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2010 to promote and advocate for the redevelopment of Margaret T. Hance Park in Downtown Phoenix. The event is produced by the Hance Park Conservancy in partnership with the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department.

DTPHX Hallows' Eve

Celebrate spooky season in the city at Downtown's ultimate Halloween festival! Bring the whole family along for a hauntingly fun evening of yard games, photo ops, seasonal bites and beverage booths, crafts, and costume contests.

Grand Avenue Neighborhood Clean-Up 

Join The Flock in cleaning up Historic Grand Avenue in preparation for the upcoming Grand Ave. Festival. This is a great opportunity to volunteer with your fellow Downtown community members.

Grand Ave. Festival

Each year, the historic Grand Avenue transforms into a live showcase of local art, activating the entire strip with family-friendly activities, live entertainment, food vendors, and a full-fledged display of the creativity and talent that this neck of the woods is known for.

Arizona Fall Festival

Find out where being a ‘Localist’ begins at the 20th annual Certified Local Fall Festival hosted by Local First Arizona, where hundreds of locally owned businesses set up shop for one unforgettable day dedicated to celebrating everything that makes Arizona home.

Hondo Rodeo

It's always a hoot and a holler when Hondo Rodeo comes to town. Part free street fest, part million-dollar rodeo, part star-studded concert series; this 3-day celebration keeps the good times rolling around the clock and at every corner.

Phoenix Pizza Festival

For those who consider pizza to be deserving of its own food group, this one is for you. Eat your heart out at the 11th annual Pizza Fest, where local pizza makers share their cheesy creations with the neighborhood while local bands take the stage and the park is sprinkled with lawn games, kid-friendly activities, market vendors, and good vibes.

Herberger Festival of the Arts

Experience the magic of the arts as two stages light up with spirited music and dance performances, and the grounds are filled with captivating art demonstrations, hands-on kids’ activities, a vibrant vendor market, mouthwatering food trucks, and a lively beer and wine garden.
