From welcoming inspiring new leaders, to reigniting efforts to update the Downtown Strategic Plan and deepening advocacy around the issues that matter most, PCA continued to bring people together to solve challenges, share ideas, and move meaningful work forward.

(DPI), it was a year that truly amplified our mission and affirmed what's possible when a community moves with intention. When people talk about Downtown Phoenix’s revitalization, they’re often referring to the work led by Mayor Phil Gordon. From 2004 to 2012, Phil Gordon served as mayor during one of the most transformative periods in Downtown Phoenix’s history.

Most people would be happy to properly organize their garage or even a closet or two. Not Dennis "Denny" Gleason. The talented ragtime pianist, who couldn't read a note of music, had a grander goal: starting in the mid-1930s, he organized Valley roadways, one paint can lid at a time.

People will do almost anything for ice cream and candy. Likewise, historians will dig deep to uncover the remnants of Downtown Phoenix’s most famous confectionery shop, which people of a certain age hold dear.

This year, Downtown Phoenix Inc. (DPI) proudly celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a community-centered campaign honoring the vibrant culture and inspiring stories of local leaders who enrich our city. Rooted in intentional branding, powerful messages, and a deep pride in the heritage that continues to shape our city, Hispanic Heritage Month came to life in Downtown Phoenix.

Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) has been a Downtown Phoenix institution since 1998, and Bobb Cooper gave it his all to put the organization on the map. With dedication and optimism, the former Producing Artistic Director built a professional theatre company, inspiring a team to reach their full potential and believe in their own abilities.
