Meet us at Civic Space Park for “Bark in the Park” this Valentine’s Day – Food Truck Friday, cuddles with adoptable dogs from Arizona Humane Society and a lunch break in one of downtown’s beautiful parks – what more could you want? (Photo: Taylor Bishop)

It’s that time of year again — Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re spending the day with your sweetheart, a group of friends or just want to treat yo’self, Downtown Phoenix has a Valentine’s Day activity (with plenty of dogs, drinks, and desserts included) for every beating heart:

Join us for “Bark in the Park”

Find some puppy to love at Downtown Phoenix Inc.’s annual celebration in the park.

Enjoy a lovely lunch at Civic Space Park during Food Truck Friday and cuddle up with adorable pups thanks to our friends at Arizona Humane Society.

Adoptable dogs will be ready for selfies beneath the “Her Secret is Patience” sculpture from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and five diverse, tasty food trucks will be there from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Puppy cuddles are free, bring card or cash for the food trucks.

Wine and dine at a romantic restaurant

$

Start or end your Valentine’s evening at GenuWine Arizona Wine Bar for live music and local sips. Get a bottle of bubbles and two cupcakes for $25 at the Roosevelt Row watering hole or try one of their tasty charcuterie boards.

Whether your date is a match or not, you can still enjoy a three-course dinner at Match Restaurant & Lounge. The FOUND:RE Hotel restaurant offers a special menu for Feb. 14 at $45/person.

Skip the standard roses and chocolates and spend time with that special someone at Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails. Some standouts of the four-course menu include your choice of scallop crudo for the first course, burrata and Noble Bread for the second course, herb crusted lamb rack as a main entree and a white chocolate molten cake with rose sorbet for dessert. $95/person.

Explore a museum, jam out at a concert or throw some axes

The Phoenix Art Museum will be extending their hours until 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 14. Beyond the special exhibitions “Legends of Speed” and “Ansel Adams,” head to the museum for Love Stories & Wine in the sculpture garden patio, art bingo and 20% all jewelry in The Museum Store. Admission will be discounted to $7 per person from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Valentine’s Day evening.

Downtown Phoenix has shows taking place nearly every night of the year, and Valentine’s Day is no exception.

The Super Love Jam at Talking Stick Resort Arena is a great date idea for R&B oldies fans. Or, go to The Anti-Valentine Show at Crescent Ballroom for a performance from The AZ Gender Outlaws and burlesque dancers.

Hit the bullseye on a solid date night at Urban Axes in the Phoenix Warehouse District – which is offering an hour of axe throwing for two and sparkling wine for $45.

Shake it up with a weekend of cocktails

For its third year in Downtown Phoenix, Arizona Cocktail Weekend will be hosting events at Little Rituals, From The Rooftop at The Cambria Hotel Downtown Phoenix, The Croft, and dozens of other top AZ locations. (Photo: Facebook/Arizona Cocktail Weekend)

The ninth annual Arizona Cocktail Weekend is returning to DTPHX on Valentine’s/Presidents Day Weekend (Feb. 15-17) with more than 25 events happening at bars throughout downtown, at the Walter WhereHouse (Cocktail Carnival) and The Croft (Top Bars).

Savor show-stopping cocktails served up by 30+ of the biggest brands in the business at the event’s new Cocktail Carnival on Feb. 15. Then, recoup and head to Top Bars on Sunday for an international cocktail experience featuring pop-up versions of renowned bars from around the state, country, and across the globe. Many Cocktail Weekend events are free. Cocktail Carnival tickets start at $26 and Top Bars is $52+.

The Arizona Science Center is also offering its monthly adults only, after hours party featuring cocktails and a night full of  “Sexy Science” programming. From a star-crossed lovers planetarium presentation to a special talk on how dinosaurs did “it” with paleontologist Gavin McCullough – there are plenty of activities and demonstrations to fall in love with. Tickets are free for members and $12 for non-members. Must be 21+.
