Dog Haus Biergarten Opens in Downtown Phoenix

The Downtown Phoenix Dog Haus is the restaurant’s fourth Arizona location.
A pandemic can’t stop Dog Haus Biergarten. The California-based restaurant opened its newest location on Thursday June 18 in Downtown Phoenix, and let me tell you — the food, drinks and customer service are the opposite of the würst.
Located on the corner of Central Avenue and Washington Street, the craft casual concept has Instagram-worthy “HausBurgers,” “HausSausages,” and of course “HausDogs.”
The Downtown Phoenix location also has a special cocktail menu and plant-based options.
I went for the “Little Mule” — a burger on Hawaiian rolls with cotija cheese, jalapeño, a fried egg and other yummy toppings. I had to get a side of their chili cheese tots, too.
When eating a dog, sausage or burger, you can work up a mighty thirst. The bartender helped me pick a drink based on my food order and inclination for sweet cocktails. The “Sunset Strip,” one of a dozen cocktails on the menu, was perfect for me with rum, orange curacao, aperol, pineapple juice and some lime.
And, the craft beer menu has local options that are as memorable as the food.
Working my way through this menu is going to be my new hobby, and luckily they offer takeout and delivery options to help maintain social distancing.
Dog Haus is open for lunch and dinner Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
Stop in for happy hour (sporting your favorite face mask, please) from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and all day Sunday for $2 off cocktails and draft beer and burgers for under $4.
