Following a hiatus in 2020, Downtown Phoenix’s most popular, real outdoor ice-skating rink has a new look and location this year due to Valley Metro Light Rail construction along Central Avenue. Located at Patriot’s Park (11 W. Washington Street) in the center of CityScape Phoenix, the CitySkate rink is different in design and size than in years past, but will still offer freshly-surfaced ice, twinkling holiday lights and festive décor — all set within the heart of the city.
The skating season will commence on Friday, Nov. 26 with a grand opening celebration beginning at 3 p.m. with skating for the public starting at 5 p.m.
“CitySkate has become a time-honored tradition for so many Valley families, and we look forward to welcoming guests back to the ice rink this season to create even more memories with us,” said Emily Park, vice president of marketing for CityScape Phoenix. “In the coming weeks, we’ll be announcing exciting upcoming events and fun promotions on social media so stay tuned for more details.”
CitySkate’s hours of operation will be from 5-11 p.m. from Nov. 26 through Dec. 16, and from 3-11 p.m. Dec. 17 through Jan. 5. Hours may vary on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
CitySkate ticket pricing includes skate rental and 90 minutes of skate time during designated skate sessions: general admission ($18 per person); military, seniors and children 8 years and under ($13 per person); children 3 and under (free) and “Student Discount Sundays” ($13 per person, with valid ID from middle school, high school or college). Guests with their own skates will receive $2 off ticket pricing.
Visit the website for rink hours, special event information, a parking map and directions. Ample and convenient underground parking is available. Skaters are encouraged to dine before or after enjoying the rink at one of CityScape’s many restaurant and entertainment venues for parking validation credit up to two hours. CitySkate is operated by American Outdoor Skating Centers, LLC.
