PHOENIX (September 13, 2022) — Prefer your hikes to feature more lagers than logs? Downtown Phoenix Inc. has the perfect day trip planned just for you.

DTPHX Urban Ale Trail is your opportunity to sip and nosh your way through dozens of bars and restaurants, the vast majority locally owned and operated and all located within a walkable, art-rich neighborhood.

It’s one of the best–and tastiest–ways to experience firsthand the neighborhood’s dramatic evolution.

This year, 27 Downtown Phoenix bars and restaurants are participating in Urban Ale Trail, including event newcomers BARCOA, The Desmond, Garden Bar, El Zaguan Bistro, Jacy & Dakota’s, Pa’la, Pedal Haus Brewery and Wren & Wolf. Nearly 70 percent of this year’s participating bars and restaurants are locally owned and operated.

Each location will be serving three different 4-ounce beer samples for $5 each, with each purchase including a complimentary snack like fried mac and cheese, desert hot chicken bites, parmesan garlic fries or cheesy pizza sticks.

There’s no registration necessary and the Trail can be navigated in any order.

For those looking to begin their hike early, the first 200 people to arrive at our trailhead (Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel) will receive a free commemorative silicon pint glass courtesy of signature restaurant and event partner Carcara, one of two Urban Ale Trail stops located on the Sheraton property.

From there, the Trail can be explored in any order, using the lure of libations to promote downtown’s hyper local bar and restaurant scene, walkability, and access to mass transit.
